Synopsis:
Descendants is an intriguing, character-driven drama that tells the story of a dysfunctional Icelandic family through the exploration of universal themes such as greed, sibling rivalry, loyalty and responsibility. Following the banking crisis in Iceland, tourism becomes a desirable goldmine. When three, very different middle-aged siblings inherit the successful whale watching company and beautiful summerhouse their parents built, things become extremely difficult. To take joint decisions about the legacy they all feel entitled to creates complex circumstances, and when they start to manipulate what they are to share, old wounds open up with dire consequences.
Full of complex, carefully drawn, yet easily identifiable characters, the series explores how siblings who care for each other can still fight over the smallest things and the entitlement some individuals have in believing they are due a bigger slice of what should be equally shared.
