Synopsis

MEISJE (Girl) tells the story of three women on a cross-road in their lives. Muriel is a young girl (20) in search for a direction. She breaks up with her parents, her boyfriend and the restrictive village life to start an independent life in Brussels. Muriel moves in with the unconstrained and vivid Laura (37), a woman with a chaotic love-life and a growing desire for a child. Martha (56), Muriel’s mother, watches this from a distance and sees her own enclosed life bursting open as she recognizes a forgotten girl’s dream. Their lives cross, influencing one another and resulting to an interesting and turbulent evening. MEISJE is a movie about the subtle and immense power that drives women.
